you might want one that has levels. The CHI i had didn't have levels to choose and it fried my hair. Hope it helps

Are you using a heat protector? Any kind of spray before you straighten? If your just putting it on your hair without anything, then that's why it is dry. Try using Bedhead Fashionista, it will protect your hair from the heat, and make it look straighter. Don't use hairspray, its full of alcohol and will suck the moisture right out. Good luck

I have nappy, DRY, cuuuurly hair. I use the CHI. You are not going to find a better straighener. However, you would be best served to use the accompanying products. Use the shampoo, conditioner, and serum. Your hair will be like nothing you could imagine! I know it's expensive, but you have to pay the price when you have hair like ours, and the results are amazing!!

ghd and you can get the ones for thick hair they also come with a heat spay before you use them and you can do different styles also m friend has curly thick hair and her hair looks so shiny and straight i hope they help you wont want a different pair after these ghd thickness they are brill ....x

I use this fantastic product put out by John Frieda called "Frizz-Ease Hair Serum". It's this concentrated thick clear liquid that you run through your hair while it's damp. All I do is comb my hair, and my hair is stick straight all day! (but be careful not to use more than a dime sized amount- it's very concentrated!) John Frieda has a whole line of hair straightening products and all of them are highly recommended! Good luck!

They conair ones work good. Expessially the one that has venting holes you can dry your hair when its dry and it wont fry up. It works really. good.

I have very thick course hair. I also use a Chi. I find that the Aveda universal styling creme works well for me. I put a little in (about a dime size) before I blow dry and then about the same amount before I iron. Paying attelntion more to the middle and ends of my hair. Not the roots because it will look greasy. It seems to be all about the products you use. I wouldn't go to a conair iron. Alot of them are just ceramic coated (a very thin layer) and it wears off very quickly.
