My hair is quite dry..do treatments really work or do i have to cut it?

hey my hair was very curly but i have straightened it.... it was very healthy even after i straightened it but my hair has a tendency to become dry after some time (even when my hair was curly). Could the dryness of the hair have to do with the weather or stress? and do hair treatments and serums really help? thanks

Yes conditioning your hair can truly help if your not adding a lot of heat to your hair, meaning blow drying or using a flat iron these things really fry the hair especially if you do it often.

L'Oreal Mermaids is a great deep conditioner, Frizz Ez has a deep reconstructing conditioner that is good too and Hask placenta conditioner is good too.

1. Wash your hair and preferably let it air dry

2. section your hair into 4 sections

3. Apply conditioner within each section in small parts 1-2 inches diameter of hair start nearer to the root but not on scalp thoroughly saturate all of your hair

4. If it's long enough braid into 2 or 4 braids if it's not that long put it up in clips or in a bun place a scarf on your head to promote your own body heat

5. Preferably leave it in overnight if not able to at least leave it in for a few hours so that your body temp. will help the conditioner penetrate the hair shaft.

6. Rinse it out and you will feel a difference

If your hair is extremely dry do this once a week if not so bad do it twice a month and if moderately dry do it once a month

The reason to apply it to dry hair is the conditioner applied on wet hair simply coats the hair and slides off, when the hair is dry the conditioner is able to actually penetrate the hair shaft with your own body heat as an activator

I think you should do both it works better

get frequent trims, like every 6 weeks... And use a hair mask. fructis makes a really good one, or neutrogena triple moisture....

if you dye, blow-dry, put a whole bunch of gunk in your hair, and all that good stuff, yes it will get dried out. condition your hair about twice a week. you should also cut the dead ends (if you have any).

Hair can represent what you are going through at the moment.. As for dryness, I dunno... BUT, mayonaise does wonders... Try it.

i also have very very dry hair that i blowdry and straighten, but i use deep conditioner when i wash it (i like NIce n Easy). i also use serum both before and after i straighten it and it makes it soft and doesn't weigh it down. i'd opt for a serum with a sunscreen in it if you're gonna be in direct sunlight for more than about an hour-that can really damage and dry your hair out

do treatments and cut it because if you just treat it the new hair will dry and die too if you do both it will help alto more. hope u take my advise..........=)

you could put leave-in-conditioner in your hair by nexxus and leave it for 3 minutes and rinse it and it really leaves your hair shiny and smelling beautiful and it really, really look healthy.
