Try hot oil, olive oil, or sesame oil. Then head over to the drug store and get some Aussie DEEEEEP conditioning treatment. Now, the problem is this. If it is truely damaged, she may have to cut it off and start growing it out again. She can get products to help tame her curls and make them more tolerable. Normal natural hair is in this year. Stick straight hair is out. Grab some fashion mags for her to check out. And tell her straight is great, but mangy and motheaten is not hot, and to leave her hair alone.

u should get hair softeners %26amp; heat protectant gels %26amp; sprays. they're very cheap %26amp; work. make sure she is using a ceramic tile straightener. I have the same problem. that's wat i do

first of all, tell her to stop using straighteners, because it dries out her hair and can make it very damaged and brittle. but if you cant persuade her, buy a heat-protecting conditioner or something like that. frederic fekkai(i think its spelled like that) is a good brand, even if it is a bit expensive

Go to a salon or a shop and get a shampoo or treatment that may help, if u go to the hair salon it might cost a lot but doing it urself might be bad too.

call a salon and ask if you can't make an appointment. go with Garnier-Fructis shampoo for dry, damaged hair and a regular conditioner and deep conditioner. only deep condition once or twice a month. get a book (from the library) for natural hair styles. for the time being, just give her individuals (small braids, or really whatever size you want) and that will help her hair grow and stay healthy and you have to redo them every one or two weeks. so that gives plenty of growth time. she can't permanently ruin it, it always grows back. but if you're really worried call a salon. good luck!

There is this shampoo and conditioner called "All Soft" by Redken. It works wonders.

Get her Aussie Duel Personality shampoo and conditioner, then put mousse in it before it dries. It should really help. I should know:my hair is so soft now!!!

Hi There :) You could try S Factor's "SERIOUS" Conditioner with Sunflower Seed Oil. Good Luck!

Lots and lots of conditioner!!!!!! Also there is this stuff called Cholesterol treatment for not too much but works well. I imagine if all her hair falls out she wont have much to worry about if she keeps putting straighter in it, I don't mean to be vicious by any means but this will happen if she keeps using the straightener. Its very very bad and damaging to the hair. The irony of life is paying a price for everything huh? Food is that way too. Actually most anything in life is that way, cant have too much of anything, not fair.! Good Luck.

have the ends cut off regularly. try using Aveda Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss it's a 2,5 fl oz bottle for about $20. wash hair and let it air dry before it is completely dry put the "stuff" in her hair then brush it. when the hair is completely dry use a brush curling iron, not flat iron. (trust me I am mulatto and the hair has been an issue for years) Use the brush curling iron to pull out the hair, the combination of heat and brush will not completely straighten it but remove most of the tight kinky curls.

Well if you cant afford a lot, tell her to get a job, and pay for her hair care herself. Honestly.

There are different ways to go about straightening your hair.

Im wondering if her hair is chemically damaged as well as heat damaged?

If so, I recommend some intense protein treatments.

If its just dry because of the irons, then she needs to use a leave in conditioner AND a heat protectant, you can find good ones at any professional salon. But she should be doing this anyway.

Or, you could go for the japanese thermal hair straightening. Its a large initial outlay, but it has lasting results, and you wont be needing to spend money on products, or fretting about the condition of her hair. Its very very natural looking.

If she is not about to give up the irons, or the cost of the straightening is too costly for you... try to get her to cut down. Naturally curly hair is naturally dry anyway, so its not going to hurt for her to wash her hair less frequently. When she is in the shower, tell her to wear a shower cap in between shampooing days.

Moisture and humidity can make the hair more frizzy, and puts all that ironing to waste.

Have her sleep on a satin pillow case, or a material with low friction, this will help her to keep the ironed hair straighter for longer.

Im not sure where you live, but im thinking that the japanese thermal hair straightening will be cheaper in an actual japanese hair salon, and there are many many around the world, in my city we had about 5 as well as hundreds of Korean hair salons which also do the straightening, their method is called 'Magic Straight' and its pretty much the same thing, if not a little cheaper, but just as effective.

Good luck, I hope your daughters hair woes will come to a stop.

get a hair mask

If your daughter uses a regular straightener, the one that you have to do the whole head of hair once a month....then she is absolutely frying her hair. And honestly, no matter what she does as far as conditioners...without cuttting it, it will remain damaged.

I would seriously advise you to check into the CHI permanent straightening system. I do them in my shop and I have it done on my hair. It is totally unbelievable to see and feel the results. AND, for most people it only has to be done once a year. I have been a hairstylist for 30 yrs and its the most amazing product I have ever seen. Now......depending on where you get it done, it may be expensive; but it is well worth the cost as it last so long and leaves the hair in better condition than it was before.

Also, regardless of what anyone thinks........if you do not get your ends NIPPED at least every 4 to 6 weeks, the ends start to split and the longer you go the worse it breaks. Especially if you use a lot of heat and a straightening iron.

The CHI silk infusion is great to apply prior to straightening also. Check with your local salons on prices and availability of the CHI home products and permanent straightening chemical.

Good luck.........I know about the curly hair mess~~~~~

She hasn't permanently damaged it. Hair grows out! But, she needs to use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

Before blowdrying, she needs to use some sort of protective product that will keep her hair from being damaged.

Getting her hair trimmed on a regular basis is a very good idea--it gets rid of the split ends. I'm not talking about a full blown cut and style--just a trim. When you go into a salon, ask for someone other than a stylist (they get to charge what they want). Trims are cheaper.

A hot oil treatment will help some. But, you can also take a trip to Sally's Beauty Supply and get hair cholestorol. Just follow the direction to use it. I don't remember how expensive it is--It's been a really really long time since I used it.

Tell her that in order to have healthy hair, she will have to suck it up and style it differently on a regular basis. Curly one day, strait another.

Any time she isn't going anywhere, she really needs to lay off fixing her hair. Also, when she does, put the flat iron on the lowest heat setting possible and make sure her hair is COMPLETELY dry before she straitens it (Use the cool air button on your blow dryer to assure all her hair is dry).
