What can i do to turn my dry hair soft?

Use a natural shampoo and conditioner.. when you go to the shops, read the back of the shampoos and conditioners and see what they specialise in...

Don't wash your hair for too long - this takes away all the natural oils and the coating that forms around the hair that makes it soft and shiny. 2 minutes should be the absolute max, but I go for way shorter than that.. Conditioner you can leave in longer.

When you wash your hair, focus on the hair around your scalp. Don't go rubbing the ends of your hair just the parts where its oily or dirty. (Still put the shampoo all through your hair but don't scrub at the ends) Condition all your hair and leave it there for a few minutes.

Also, try not to wash your hair all the time.. only when its dirty or greasy.. For me its about every 3 days give or take a day depending on how it's looking.

Also, let your hair dry on its own, blow-drying can dry out your hair and also give you split ends, depending on your hair type. Just yesterday, my friend (she normally always blow-dries) didn't blow dry her hair and she was like 'my hair feels so soft' so that might be something.. and even if you do blow dry your hair .. don't do it for too long.. Towl dry first and then do it quickly.. and avoid blowing the ends.

Brush your hair often, with a brush.. combs are for getting the knots out first....100 brushes a day makes your hair shiny and keeps it healthy looking. As your hair begins to dry, start combing it through starting from the bottom.

What else. I think their are masks that you can get that nourish, and moisturise your hair.. Anyway, I hope this helps!!!!

you can try going to a salon... yeah.. you might need to splurge a bit if you would really like great hair then after that, maintain it with the shampoo and conditioner that best suits you and try washing your hair for only 3-4 times a week since this will allow its natural oil to come out..but if it isn't possible then you might need to buy weekly at-home treatments.you can look for products in malls. if you're lucky, you'll be able to find one which doesn't cost that much.... i use pantene and pantene conditioner.

and oh, btw, leave the conditioner for 3-5 minutes before rinsing.

I have found the best thing for my dried out over-bleached hair to be coconut oil. It's amazing stuff, and pretty cheap from most health food stores.

It comes in a hard block, but melts on contact with your hands. Alternatively you could place the bottle/container in a bowl of warm water to melt it.

Rub it all through your hair and leave on for as long as possible. I have an old beanie hat that I put my hair in overnight, but you could just put towels on the pillows.

Then wash out in the morning. It works beautifully, and leaves you with shiny gorgeous hair, well worth the hassle. The first time I did it I got compliments from friends and family. I do it about once a fortnight, but you could do it more often if your hair is really bad.

I get my husband to give me a scalp massage with it whilst we watch a movie. Lovely.

Here's a high-protein, high-moisture treat for your hair.

First make sure you wash your hair so that it's clean. Then, get some mayonnaise (one that uses real eggs), apply to your hair, then let stay for half an hour.

Shampoo out using warm water. You may need a few rinses to get the mayo completely out. :)

What can i do to turn my dry hair soft?

people are saying mayo and olive oil ... while they may be good choices, they are extremely hard to get out... just try deep conditioning...

either go to a salon and ask for a conditioning treatment

or do it at home

when i was in beauty school we used cholesterol you can find it at sally's or even check walmart I think queen helen products makes a cholesterol

after you shampoo, take our hair by sections and apply cholesterol

then wrap it in a warm moist towel leave it on for a good while an hour or so

then rinse out

try once a week

if you cant find cholesterol, then use a heavy conditioner
