For really dry hair, you should go to a salon and have a hot oil treatment done, not only will it help, but also leave you feeling pampered, and worth a million bucks.

It is pricey, but well worth it.

i'd go for 'hena' (they come in little tubs like tubs of gel, ready mixed...i don't know if they sell it in the UK, but i've got a stock from somewhere and i'm rather sure its fromt he UK...just apply like conditioner to hair and allow 5 minutes before rinsing it off...if you mix in some of the dove intensive care, it feels rather good the next day...

V05 Hot Oil works good. I just used it last week actually. My hair was getting super dried out, after I washed it with that I had an awesome hair day.

Wash your hair with a standard shampoo, pat dry, and then gently rub olive oil into your scalp. Wrap a warm towel over your head for about 30 min's. Then thoroughly rinse your hair in beer. The lighter the hair, the lighter the beer. Cover your head again with a towel.

After 20 min's. thoroughly rinse the hair with water and a little conditioner, and dry naturally without a hot air dryer.

Repeat this treatment over a month and you should notice a difference in your hair and scalps condition.

This is an old fashioned treatment, which has been proven for many years.
