Unrefined coconut oil works wonders. I put it in my curly dry hair every night, then tie it up in a bun, and sleep with it that way. In the morning I shower and shampoo it all out. It only gets softer and shinier the more I do it... and it smells phenomenal too!

P.S. Don't use herbal essences!! It creates a film over your hair (that makes it smooth and shiny) that smothers your hair. It ends up killing your hair and making it fall out!!!
