I have really dry hair and I was told the shampoo is actually more important than the conditioner for us. I use Nexxus Therapy shampoo and Humectes conditioner. Sometimes when I'm short on cash I buy the good shampoo and the cheaper conditioner. I think it has something to do with the lathering agent in the shampoo that dries out our hair. Good luck!

I really like Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine. I use a lot of heat on my hair (blow drying, flat iron) and I find this shampoo and conditioner really moisturize my hair and make it very soft and shiny. Plus it's really cheap, maybe $3 a bottle.
TIP: Rinse your hair in cold water, it seals the cuticle and makes it shinier!

I like L'oreal shampoo and conditioners they have a great range and have some really nice smelling herbal ones and the non herbals ones are great too. I suffer bad scalp problems but with L'oreal its never been a problem for me. It an individual thing as some people might really like Pantene but its never worked for me.
As for dry hair I would only wash your hair every few days and make sure you condition it well after shampooing it leaving it on for recommended time ie 2 mins or so. Using too many hair dyes will dry your hair out too so use those sparingly to avoid hair problems later on.

Aussie makes a really good brand. It's called moist, and it smells great. It has aloe to soothe your hair and protect from any other damage, like wind or sun. I use this and my hair is never too dry or too oily. If your hair is still too dry after using the Moist shampoo and conditioner, use the leave-in conditioner also. It adds double protection and adds shine.

Try Aussie Moist shampoo and Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner. They also have a spray on leave in conditioner called Aussie Hair Insurance....this stuff is wonderful! Great if you get lots of tangles. Spray in before you comb your hair out.
You may also want to try a hot oil treatment once a week. Any brand will do, and, they make your hair nice and soft.
