Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

My hair has always been healthy, but now it's dry and brittle. I recently moved. Do you think the water may have something to do with it? It's NOT well water. What can I do to restore it?

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

Could be a lot of chlorine in the water. Buy a filter for your showerhead that removes all chemicals, chlorine etc. Easily found online (one good source: www.seventhgeneration.com). Also, no need for expensive conditioners. Olive oil and/or mayonnaise work just great. Check online also for procedures but basically simple, just soak/smear %26amp; wrap head in plastic %26amp; leave on for at least half an hour. But if nothing has changed but your location (no sudden stress, diet changes, etc.) it's likely the water. Good luck!

You could get a hot oil treatment to strengthen your hair and then get your ends clipped to help your continue to grow! Report It

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

Use a moisturizing shampoo condtioner and leave in creme. I reccomened Neutrogena Triple Moisture, shampoo conditioner and deep recovery hair mask

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled.

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week

Avoid combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.

Deep condition twice a week

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water.

When using a conditioner leave on for about 1-3 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to have shiny hair

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

If you dye your hair do it atleast once a year, hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill your hair.

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

It could be the water, it might be too harsh or the climate (if there is a change) You might choose a heavier conditioner..

I have processed hair and I was put on potassium supplements by a cool Chinese traditional medicine doctor and the biggest improvement is sleeping soundly and not being stressed all the time but my hair is so soft and amazing., my hairdresser could not get over how healthy it looked.. Its wild

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

it could, try some conditioner that fixes dry damaged hair and some shampoo, SunSlick works really well, get the pink bottle, its so good for damaged hair

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

ok. so your hair is dry and brittle. what you need to do is first buy a clarifing shampoo. don't buy the cheap kind either go to a salon. also while you are there pick up a protein treatment and to seal it in get a moisterising conditioner. trust me im a hairstylist...only do this 2 times the first week after that once a week.

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

infusium (i think is the name) is a leave in conditioner that works really well. pantene (walmart has a great comparison kind, and cheap too) works miracles. try a trim first. beat an egg for protein, use flat beer to strip hair of build up and use mayonaisse for shine. helene has a good deep conditioning product also. the problem could be stress, hard water (which is different than well water), and swimming could be the culprits.

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

Fruit bat, find out if it hard water, if it is see what other people in the area use, there are shampoos that work better in different types of water, ask around ...good luck

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

try redken cat conditioner %26amp; redken milk shampoo its expensive but it works

Dry, damaged, brittle hair.?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed. I promise.

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.
