You can also use mayonaise - the fats and proteins in it help to restore shine and soften the hair shaft. Apply liberally, then put on a cap and use the the hot towel treatment, same as with the avocado mixture.

This is easy %26amp; works really well. Mix together well: 1/2 cup ofyour regular conditioner, 2 eggs 2 tablespoons of oil (vitamin e oil is best, but any will work, including regular old cooking oil), a few squirts of lemon juice and a bit of your favorite perfume. Shampoo your hair, then work your conditioner through your hair from scalp to ends. Use a lot of it. Wrap it up in a towel so it doesn't drip %26amp; just leave it, or heat it with a damp towel %26amp; hair dryer. Leave it in your hair for 5 minutes or longer. I leave mine in for a few hours when I can. Rinse it out WELL %26amp; you'll definately notice a difference. When I have it, I also add a few tablespoons of glycerin.
