Your best bet is to see your doctor and ask for something for dandruff. Most dandruff shampoos you buy off the shelf do not work.....they actually cause you to keep having dandruff, they dry out your scalp. If they worked...they wouldn't sell near as much. It's sad but true.

The cause of dandruff is a dry scalp, not dry hair. One of the easiest ways to decrease the dry, itchy feeling is by a scalp massage. Oils like sweet almond oil, walnut oil, grapeseed oil, or even olive oil if you can't find the others, are a good base oil to use. Essential oils like tea tree have traditionally been used for scalp problems and you may find that beneficial if you mixed that in with the oil.

It's fairly simple, you just dip your finger tips in the oil and massage it into your scalp. You can do it as long as you want, just remember to go wash your hair afterward! :)

Try Selsun Blue. I have seen lots of commersials about it. I think it is sold where ever shampoo and conditioner are sold like Walmart or Target or places like that.

Also try Head and Shoulders Intesive Solutions, it is good to reduce the dandruff and help moisturize a dry scalp.

Becareful when you pick it out though because some of them (like Selsun Blue) may discolor blonde, gray or chemically treated hair. Just a warning though.
